PSYC1020 – Introduction to Psychology: Physiological & Cognitive Psychology 70.0

This course is EASY! Attend the lectures and you've got your final exam sorted. Attend the tutorials and you've got your essay sorted. It's a very course to take for someone with no psychology knowledge, and I found the lecture topics very fun. Easy marks and not too boring

PSYC1020 – Introduction to Psychology: Physiological & Cognitive Psychology 83.1

This course is incredibly easy to pass, and even do well in. Provided you print and read the lecture notes before lectures, attend the lectures and tutorials, you will easily pass.

Not coming from a biology background, the physiological side of the course was very interesting to me. I'm guessing for students who did biology in high school or are taking biology alongside 1020, the physiological side of the course will be no more than revision. As for the cognitive side, unfortunately even the lecturer John's awesome attitude and engaging lecturing style doesn't make getting through the cognitive content any less laborious. You just have to learn definitions. Both cognitive and physiological lectures are packed with content every week.

The content of the tutorials seemed quite repetitive, but their real value is in being able to communicate with your tutor about the analysis essay. Making notes during tutorials, submitting a draft and arranging a consultation with your tutor will see the essay become easy. You have several weeks to complete the 1500 word essay.

Because of the sheer amount of content, revision for this course should be started early. Revision should not have to consist of more than re-reading through lecture notes and completing past exam papers.

The final exam is 72 (If I remember) multiple choice questions. The questions are easy, some are oddly specific though.
