HIST2304 – Monarchy, Revolution and Modernity 86.3

An interesting course for those who are curious about the history of monarchy through history, and the processes of revolution. It was admittedly underdeveloped assessment wise, although it was the first time the course has run. Lecturers' were generally approachable, and well-spoken. Blackboard presence was excellent (something usually vastly sub-par in history courses), with a useful collection of links to readings and questions answered promptly. The chief issues would be assessment, which was both unclear (questions had multiple interpretations), too short, and the marking system inconsistent (in my experience). In addition, the three-hour lecture (with no tutorials) quickly became tedious, although did beget far better discussion that a small tutorial might have.
