MGTS1201 – Computer-based Information Systems 73.7

Dr Peter Clutterbuck is one of the best lecturers I've had! His explanations are easy to understand and he tells you what's important for the exams. He is a caring lecturer I have to say. He made parts of certain chapters from textbooks available on blackboard so students didn't have to purchase them. Sometimes you may find the course content slightly boring. The best part of this course is the Excel part. It's easy to score almost full marks for the assignment. My group achieved 24.5/25. Make sure everyone in the group does the assignment as in the final exam, you will have to write long and complicated excel formulas. Head to the consult if you face problems with excel. I enjoyed this course very much!

MGTS1201 – Computer-based Information Systems 63.7

Overall this was an easy course, attend the tutorials for the practical sessions and make sure you review the slides of the lectures and it should be an easy 6. Good communication in the group assignment is extremely important and by choosing to complete the excel part of it, you will essentially be studying for half of your final.

MGTS1201 – Computer-based Information Systems 78.6

Relatively easy course. Goes through the basics of excel, which if you did maths B in high school should be straight forward. Lectures were rather boring, and pointless at times, but the lecturer does go through the assignment and what to study for on the exams. The exams were more of a memorising test.

MGTS1201 – Computer-based Information Systems 80.4

Great course to build on your excel and computer skills. Assignment (at the time) was 20% and all you had to do was follow instructions on what to do in an excel spreadsheet - needless to say everyone I knew got 20/20 and an easy 20% added to their final grade. Good to take to boost GPA.

Lecturers are somewhat necessary as he goes through a lot of points before the lecture starts to record (ie points on assignment and final exam...).

Textbook not really worth buying as all the lecture notes have basic points you need to know.

MGTS1201 – Computer-based Information Systems 71.3

Good course for anyone interested in learning more about Microsoft Visio or Microsoft Excel. This course was fairly easy, with a lot of the exam work being common sense based. A bit more effort needs to go into the assignments, however. Part A was fairly easy, part B requires a bit more work. Lecturer was okay, knew what he was talking about and was very willing to offer assignment help and support. However, the content covered in the lectures is fairly dry.
All in all, a good course for anyone that is intending on working in a business environment.

Pretty good introductory course that teaches you the basics of it. Teaches you the foundations of excel which has proven very useful. I'm worried it was a little too easy though because he basically gives you the completed assignment and tells you what's on the exams.
