MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 29.1

SEMESTER 2 - 2018 is when I took the course.

This course is the first time I have ever taken a class where I felt like the teaching staff wanted me to fail. They go out of their way to demand extremely specific information from you (in the exam, you are asked to regurgitate information as analysed "in lecture x" or "textbook chapter x" rather than to explain or apply the theory you have learned).

The content is so easy but the course itself is difficult because the course coordinator has organised it to be this way. I definitely do not recommend it. Try to avoid it if you can.

Tutors are also rude and do not give constructive feedback. I've read multiple friends' feedbacks from essays and they will leave comments like "so??" or other condescending things but give you a score just high enough so you can't complain/appeal to the faculty without coming under heavy scrutiny.

Attending tutorials is also useless because you are expected to be learning from other student presentations about topics that may appear on the exam, but since students are not writing the exam, you are not learning the right info and the tutor does not do a review at the end of the tutorial.

I should have known when looking at the assessment breakdown that the teaching staff are uptight about the 'effort' you are supposed to put in. The fact that they must check your references at a separate date and mark before your final essay should have told me so. And if not that, then I should have known from the review of tutorial workshop 'assessment' they include as part of grading in order to pressure you to turn up to classes.

If you are looking for a warning about this class, this is it. I read the other reviews too and thought "hey, it can't be that bad!" But it was.

Do not take this course.

MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 38.0

I read the past reviews and didn't think much of it, but my god is this course boring. Worst of all, they manage to throw together every theory possible to compensate for the mind boggling simplicity of the theories and expect you to remember every component of it. The course is essentially just a test to see how well you can commit things to memory. I got a 6 from maybe 2 half days of study, but my brain was completely fried and took a day to recover from being exposed to such a vast amount of stupidity before I could study for my next subject. If you don't need to take this course; do anything you can do to skip it.

MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 44.6

This course is insanely boring. Past students have said the course was easy, and indeed the content is stupidly simple. However this seems to have been compensated with a massive breadth of content. It is frustrating that course designers thinks this makes for better education. Prepare for a very broad but shallow analysis of organisational behaviour. Welcome to a quintessential example of lazy educational design.

MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 55.9

The course is so ridiculously simple and due to this is the most boring thing you'll ever do. The content is basically just a list of stupid, common sense theories such as "being nice to people will make them like you", like legit this is the whole course, these "theories" could have been written by an 8 year old. Did not attend a tutorial (other then the compulsory ones) and not a lecture just look at the content from lecture slides (which can be covered in about 6 hours). Very boring, ridiculously simple, pointless but most importantly fucking easy.

MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 73.7

MGTS1601 is probably the easiest core business course, as well as being fairly interesting. Doing the text readings are far more important then going to lectures- the main lecturer was pretty boring, went off on tangents and spent most of the first half of a lecture covering what he missed in the last one. The assessment is straightforward (most of it is common sense) , and questions on the final exam are similar to those used in previous years.

MGTS1601 – Organisational Behaviour 85.5

This course was so easy it's almost embarrassing. The midsem consisted of 30 multiple choice questions, which allowed me to set a personal record by finishing the exam in 7 minutes. And I ended up getting full marks.

I skipped all the lectures and tutorials, and did not complete the 10% presentation, and still got a 7 overall. Easily the easiest course I've ever taken.

I can't say much else about the course apart from the fact it's very basic and taught fairly well.
