(Course taken in Semester 1,2019)
Fun course to take with a lot of interesting topics.
The assignments are a little hard as it requires editing skills, filming interview. The assignments marks are divided appropriately with a 20% literature review, 10% film treatment, 25% videography, 10% presentation, 35% finals.
The finals was pretty easy and straight forward. We were allowed to bring an A4 paper double sided with written notes. The finals can easily be done by referring to the double sided cheat sheet if there's sufficient information in it.
this course hardest part is for the videography. The workshops provided for the editing techniques is provided.
I loved this course! I know it was compulsory for the Marketing major but honestly I loved it!, Dr Josephine Previte is always on time, held really interesting lectures with great real world examples in pictures and video snippets throughout, planned really helpful tutorials and the assessment was really fun to complete (weird huh!).
The assessment (Literature Review (20%), Group Research Video (40%) and the final exam (only 40%!)) was weighted really well to maximise the percentage you had before going into the final exam.
Lecture and tutorial notes doubled as study notes at the end of the semester as they were straight from the textbook.

This course introduces some really interesting topics that make you wonder about how you are being influenced by corporations. It definitely makes you a more discerning consumer.
Some of the things we were taught were against my personal views, some of it seems a little exploitative seeing as it takes advantage of human subconscious psychology. That being said, it was pretty interesting.
We had a new assignment format (videography) which wasn't planned very well. It was a little unclear as to what we needed to do. I ended up receiving a higher grade than I expected, so I think they must have marked leniently due to the new assignment format.
