My favourite Psychology course so far! Professor Courtney von Hippel ran the course this semester and she is wonderful. The lecture content is highly stimulating and always interesting. Learning about social psych is incredibly interesting and Courtney provides a unique story telling method that keeps all the students in the lecture interested (also there is free chocolate!) The assessment is relatively simplistic if you attend all the lectures and come to the tutorials. Would recommend this course to everyone!
This semester Professor Courtney von Hippel ran the course. I found her lectures interesting, entertaining and had no trouble following along. Both Courtney and her husband (Prof. Bill von Hippel who I had for PSYC2063) have a similar story-telling technique to their lectures which made them very enjoyable! Tutorials were a bit dull but necessary for the lab report. Overall, I found the course to be fairly easy -probably due to it being interesting - and the way the workload was split up gave adequate time to prepare for each assessment and had close to zero stress for this course.
Really enjoyed this course. I found it very easy to do well in and it was super interesting - except the org psyc lectures which were quite dry. There was no mid semester exam so remembering 13 weeks of content was really hard (for a short answer exam too). Could be improved with a mid semester exam. But overall loved this course and the lecturers.
The course is pretty fun and interesting overall. The content was simple to learn. Tutorials were mostly allocated to group work for the majority of the semester and never reached the two hours dictated by the timetable. I would have liked a few more, smaller assessment pieces over the semester instead of three: 35%, 30% and 35%.
This was a great course- it was very interesting and easy to study for because it was so fascinating.
I would have found it more helpful if the tutor went over more practical questions for the exam in the tute, because the exam was not just a 'content' exam, and required an application of further concepts. It would have been good to practice this more, but it was overall a great course and I would highly recommend it.
