ANTH2018 – Material Culture 100.0

The course structure was fantastic as it engaged interactively with the course content in a way my other courses didn't. Readings were focused on heavily which allowed students to delve below the mere surface level of concepts which in turn helped in exam preparation (you pretty much study for the exam from day one without knowing). Sarah Webb was great - easy to follow, accessible and helpful. Tutorial discussions and activities were hands-on and provided some real-life experience in dealing with artefacts in a lab environment. Activities allowed us to apply concepts from our readings to physical examples. A range of media was used which was great (and fun) - video, audio, guest lecturers and artefacts. The content was interesting and applicable to fields of anthropology as well as archaeology. I enjoyed the course and recommend it for Majors, Minors and even Electives.
