CHEE3003 – Chemical Thermodynamics 63.3

There’s a lot I could say about this course, but in short, it was extremely hard and difficult to understand, probably the hardest course yet (yes worse than fluids).

Overall the assessment structure was really well done because it made sure you kept up with the content each week. Although I didn’t do it, I would definitely read a textbook or somehow be more prepared for each tutorial because I would be worth knowing what they are talking about in the the tutorials. Don’t feel downhearted if you do bad in the first few assignments, it is easy to redeem yourself. Also like first year thermo, the midsem is really hard – I only just passed it.

The lectures are all on youtube which was great for flexibility. Towards the end the lectures weren’t worth watching because they were read off the slides, so it was a waste of time and better if you just apply lecture examples to your assignments.

Make sure you ask the tutor loads of questions or you will be forever trying to get your head around the tutes.
This year I thought I could predict most of the exam questions and I felt ready, but it turned out that the exam was pretty left field and difficult, I don’t think it will happen again because I have a feeling everybody got bell curved.
