CHEM3008 – Medicinal & Biological Chemistry 77.7

This course was reasonably interesting and informative. In my opinion it is the easiest 3rd year CHEM course at the university. The assessment prior to the final exam is interesting but marked extremely leniently. The contact hours are 3 lecture hours, no tutes or pracs. A lot of information is presented in the course but lecturers do a good job of highlighting examinable content.

CHEM3008 – Medicinal & Biological Chemistry 76.9

The course was extremely well structured with 40% in research assignments and 60% in the final exam on the lecture content. Lecturers made very clear what would and would not be assessable, and provided review lectures for each module. The marking scheme was very fair, bordering on lenient. No tutes, and no practicals. The lecturers went over any relevant chemistry principles that were necessary for understanding, even first year principles. They did not assume much previous knowledge. If you have done the prerequisite courses the course should not be difficult.
