CIVL2340 – Introduction to Structural Design 54.1

The lectures are enjoyable. Especially if you have Kitipornchai. The content is interesting and well set out however the assignments take hours each and basically require the entire week every other week. The assignment marking is seriously harsh with no error carried forward and pretty much no working marks so it is all on final answers. This means 20+ hours work resulting in an assignment that used correct methods, formulae but has a few wrong values leads to marks of about 50% and drops you out of any high grades and almost caused you to fail before the final exam

CIVL2340 – Introduction to Structural Design 27.9

Difficult course to understand, and is essentially on how to use the Australian Codes. If you are unfortunate to have Dilum as your lecturer, he has an annoying habit of using the whiteboard rather than a visualiser ("to those of you at home, good luck" Dilum) , and won't release tutorial solutions till SWOTVAC.

Also, expect little guidance for the assignments.
