CIVL2360 – Reinforced Concrete Structures & Concrete Technology 67.9

The first component of this course is Concrete technology, which while many people found to be really boring, the mid-sem for it was not difficult at all. The quizzes Vinh Dao releases and information from lecture slides should cover what u need to know.

Liza O'Moore taught reinforce concrete and explains the content really well. Understanding the tutorials will be sufficient for the final. Overall, this course should not be too difficult at all.

CIVL2360 – Reinforced Concrete Structures & Concrete Technology 73.6

CIVL2360 is your first insight into a concrete, the most widely used material used in Civil Engineering. The course is very difficult to do well for two reasons. A, the content is difficult, and is in abundance. The Mid-Sem assesses Concrete Technology, which is a pure knowledge test. Unlike most Civil exam, the exam does not require a calculator, as it is pure regurgitation of the 300-350 lecture slides. Fortunately the formative online quizes are similar to about 50% of the questions. Concrete Tech will teach you allot about the world around you, however some topics are very boring. Reinforced Concrete is the second part of the course and makes up 70% of the assessment. I found the only way to learn RC is to watch the lectures again online. They are very easy to follow. However looking at course notes will not be much help. Everything will confuse you and you will not gain sufficient knowledge to pass. The RC assignments make up 10% and are severely under weighted. Some assignments can take up to 8 hours for as little as 1.5%. It is an option to not do the tutes and the final exam will be worth 70% instead of 60%. If you were to spend the time that you would normally spend doing the tutes doing past exams, you would probably score a higher grade. However this is a risky move.
