DECO1400 – Introduction to Web Design 51.9

Overall: Not Recommend for electives
It is just hard to get a higher score than pass since they changed the structure of this course. Assignment Separation is rubbish. Even tutors don't know how much scores does a assignment contain. It is not recommanded To All FIRST YEAR Student. If this is your mandatory course, THINK TWICE, if you want to enroll in first year.

DECO1400 – Introduction to Web Design 83.6

Took this course on a whim as an elective for my degree. Ended up really really enjoying it and have since gotten paid professional work in web design.

The lectures were pretty boring and 2hrs long/
Tutorials were mandatory and required presenting/public speaking every week which was a bit daunting.

Assignments were great, I learnt a lot and they were nice and manageable.

DECO1400 – Introduction to Web Design 87.0

Man, oh man. The lectures for this beast were just that; beastly. Literally, there were 150 slides in one lecture at times. Luckily, they are recorded, but you won't want to watch them either. Just do the practicals and some YouTubing and you'll be fine. It's a super fun course though. What kind of kid doesn't want to know how to make websites? The only assessment is 2 assignments, so you never need to commit anything to memory. If you're anywhere near a 'half-decent' programmer, this should be a cake-walk. Only thing you should look out for; Poo-y tutors. Tutors mark all your assessment (I'm pretty sure) and they vary a lot in terms of leniency for marks. Check you have everything on the criteria rubric and then... check it again! If you do that, you'll still probably only get 84% if you get a bad tutor. But it should be real easy to pass if you put a little time into it. And JavaScript isn't dealt with too well in the lectures, it's best to just spend half an hour on YouTube (and you'll probably learn more than the course requires).

DECO1400 – Introduction to Web Design 89.2

A relatively easy course to do once you get your head around HTML and CSS. Lectures were quite long and sometimes the content during the lectures were not as relevant. Pracs were easy to do and understand however the tutorial content I feel wasn't entirely useful.

Focusing on the individual and group projects alone for the assessment seemed much easier than being marked on pracs on top of the other projects. Grades took a while to be released but it was reasonable and it was easy to go on Blackboard on the discussion board because you get a reply in at least 24 hours from someone.

Not really necessary to attend the long lectures or the tutes but helps if you want some help with your assignments.

Pretty easy course. Was an easy 7 if you smash out the 40% tutes each week :) Didn't attend a single lecture :)
