ENGL1800 – Literary Classics: Texts and Traditions 68.7

Great course, lots of thinking and training yourself to see the meaning of things. Useful skills course aswell as learning English history. Indy Clarke was a great tutor and easy 20% of your grade came from participation and weekly annotations. Overly not an incredibly hard course, depending on your intuition, but certainly learnt a lot from it. Always watched the lectures online as the lecturer talked extremely fast.
My advice: read the books before the tutorial and the week before the final exam read detail chapter reviews of each book and LOOK AT PAST QUIZES!

ENGL1800 – Literary Classics: Texts and Traditions 79.2

The course covers a variety of texts in various forms from over a long period of time including poetry, plays (Shakespeare) and full-length novels. The course is well structured. A wide variety of issues and themes are covered and the assessment is fair (when I did it, it 'stepped up' in weighting/difficulty progressively e.g. tutorial attendance was 10% with the first essay being 20% and the 2nd being longer and worth 30% with a final exam at 40%).

Overall, no complaints about the course. Apply yourself and put some thought into the texts you choose for your essays and in the exam and you can succeed fairly easily.
