LAWS1100 – Business Law 87.1

This is a fantastic first year course which is extremely well taught by Lecturer Timothy Thomas. All the content you need comes from lectures, tutes and textbook so no outside reading required. You’re allowed to copy and paste anything from the slides to be used in the assessments (bonus). The ILAC method used in all assessments is very easy to follow, and if you complete all assessments then a 6 or 7 is very attainable. Note - I took this course in 2021 (not 2017)

LAWS1100 – Business Law 90.0

(took this course on Semester 1,2019)
Great course, best lecturer ever (Mr Timothy Thomas). He makes the classes interesting in giving examples with is easy to be relatable. Consultations are really useful as he explain it till we get it. Consultations are really useful for the problem set scenario assessment and before finals. It's an open book finals and closed book mid semester (Objectives). Mid semester test was a little hard but finals went pretty well.

LAWS1100 – Business Law 87.3

Best prerequisite course I've taken.

- Very well structured course
- Great lectures and tutes (Anthony and Tim are fantastic)
- Really relevant and informative; you learn the fundamentals of law especially contract law
- Open book final exam, closed book multiple choice for midsem.

All in all, its a really, really good course. Highly recommend it.

LAWS1100 – Business Law 81.7

This is a fairly easy first year course. It has a 30% midsem and a 60% final, with 10% coming from attendance. Midsem is multiple choice and open book, so no troubles there. Final requires a lot of writing in a short period of time; this is where tutorials come in handy as an exam style question is covered every week.
I had Sue Mendes as the lecturer, and found her to be excellent... very organised and articulate. This course is planned well and easy to stay up to date with.
Overall, a good course, just be prepared for the final and keep on top of the workload and a high mark is very attainable.

10% participation marks. Attending the tutes are also pretty handy. Not necessary, but they go through questions very similar to those on the final.
The lecturer is pretty good and does not just read from the slides. The assessment is marked fairly.
Open book exam. Mid-Sem is ridiculously easy – multi choice with an open book. If you can use a glossary and index you’ll get a 6/7 on the midsem without any prior knowledge or study.
Final is a little harder, but easy to prepare for, Study is not really necessary, it’s just important to have good notes. The questions on the final are very similar to the practice questions and the questions done in tutes. Only problem with the final is the amount of time you have. Write quick.
