Doan is a great lecturer. It can be difficult to grasp some of the theoretical concepts and apply to creative work at times. Her courses are very creative - if you are a creative person and good at textual analysis, you will be fine. Recommended for anyone who took advanced/extension English courses in high school. Doan will help if asked - ask for tips after class for the video shooting and she will often demonstrate exactly what she wants.
Possibly the most unprepared and uneducated lecturer there is at UQ. Came to lecturers late, drunk? and had weird unrelated exam questions. I came away from her course with no new knowledge.
