I did not enjoy STAT1201. It was compulsory for my course and I wasn't expecting to. I feel that the analysis of scientific data is not a subject that many students choose to study, but a necessary part of acquiring a scientific degree. Professor Julian Lamont was a breath of fresh air with his guest lectures on ethics in science. I really enjoyed his interesting and philosophical perspectives on current issues in global science. I particularly appreciated a moment where he highlighted some potentially controversial political injustices towards the restriction of women's and minority sexuality for patriarchal gain. As a woman in this country, I felt both empowered and privileged.
